from the collection of Swanky
Knoxville tikiphile Swanky made an amazing find recently — this very rare United Airlines promotional tiki. United Airlines made these resin tikis for use in promotional displays at travel agent offices, advertising United’s service to Hawaii. The tikis are sought not only by tikiphiles, who treasure their large size, but also by those who collect United Airlines and travel memorabilia. This one is also special because it has a built-in fountain held in the tiki’s hands. Swanky got this for an unbelievable $65 — I would guess that it would easily go for hundreds of dollars. With a little bit of work, Swanky was able to get the fountain functioning again.

cripes! I just got a UA tiki (different style from this one) from my brother for xmas. He picked up for a few bucks at a garage sale. By far the coolest tiki I own.
