Coming October 15 to Bothell, Washington, just north of Seattle: Northshore Lagoon, a tiki bar and swimming pool (!). It is within the new Anderson School complex, by McMenamins, owners of the Kapu Hut tiki bar in Eugene, Oregon. The South Seas-themed pool will be saltwater, and surrounded by tropical plants, with a tiki bar overlooking the pool. Bamboo Craftsman of Portland, Oregon is consulting on the plants and bamboo construction.
The Anderson School started its life in 1931 as Bothell Junior High School. In McMenamins’ hands, it is being transformed into a complex of 72 hotel guest rooms, restaurants and small bars, a brewery, and a movie theater in addition to this pool and tiki bar. These pictures sure show a lot of promise, I can’t wait to see it with some lush greenery in place!
UPDATE 8/16/15: The North Shore Lagoon is now open, read more here on Critiki News, and see its listing in Critiki!

I hope they scrubbed off the poop stain from the corner of the shallow end of the pool.

I just checked out the pricing for the hotel and thought geez, that’s steep. Maybe folks are okay spending that much for one night but people with families, ouch. On a positive, it looks really cool and sounds really cool but we will all just have to wait and see.
