Sacramento’s New Tiki Bar: The Jungle Bird

The Jungle Bird opened its doors tonight in Midtown Sacramento. Area tikiphiles are much more excited about this place than last year’s short-lived flop, Rum Rok. Unlike that venture, the team behind The Jungle Bird (Melissa and Tyler Williams of Sacramento’s Tank House, and Buddy Newby) appear to have put much more care into the decor and menus, and seem to bring a much more complete Polynesian Pop experience. The pictures show lots of bamboo and lauhala, beautiful fishing floats, and great big tikis. The food and drink menus have plenty of great old standbys, including a pu-pu platter.
